At ENERparking, we are proud to present one of our most innovative and sustainable projects: a custom-designed solar canopy for Smash Padel Club, located in Muro, Mallorca. This project is the first fully solar-covered sports installation in Europe, setting a benchmark in sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Solar Panels: 1,440 double-glazed bifacial photovoltaic panels selected for their high efficiency and output capacity, covering an area of 3,072 m².
- Installed Capacity: 653 kW, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective energy production.
- Height and Waterproofing: The canopy is positioned at a height of 9 metres, allowing for optimal play conditions and providing a weatherproof, climate-controlled environment.
- Ambience and Lighting: Natural lighting through the panels creates an elegant, relaxed, and modern atmosphere, enhancing players’ experience.
Project Details
The solar canopy spans 3,072 square metres and covers 10 padel courts, providing shade and protection that significantly increases court usability. Additionally, vertical textile enclosures have been installed, creating a closed environment that enables area climate control, enhancing player comfort.
Innovation and Sustainability
Smash Padel Club is committed to excellence, with 10 state-of-the-art indoor courts and a drive for energy self-sufficiency. The solar canopy not only offers a modern and functional aesthetic design but also generates clean energy for self-consumption. Estimated energy production is 810,000 kWh annually, enough to power the club and cover 25% of the energy demand for the nearby EIX Lagotel hotel, which will utilise the surplus.
