We have begun the installation of an innovative Solar Parking at the headquarters of Moba, a global leader in egg grading and packaging solutions, located in Barneveld. This unique project in the Netherlands is designed to fully cover the parking area, including traffic lanes, enabling significantly greater energy generation than traditional solar canopies. With a surface area of 5,887 m² and 2,338 bifacial panels, the system has an installed capacity of 1,146 kWp and will generate 921 MWh annually.

This project arose in response to restrictions imposed by the local grid operator due to network congestion. Faced with this limitation, Moba chose our ENERparking system, specifically engineered to maximise energy generation by fully covering the parking area with solar panels, surpassing the efficiency of conventional canopies. The panels are arranged in a waterproof, east-west facing structure that optimises energy production throughout the day.

In addition to the solar panels, the project includes a battery storage system (KENTER) and an advanced energy management system that automatically adjusts electricity demand to the available supply, optimising the use of generated energy. Altogether, this solution will enable Moba to cover 40% of its energy consumption.

With construction underway, the system is expected to be fully operational by early 2025. This project not only represents a significant step forward in Moba’s sustainability strategy but also exemplifies ENERparking‘s commitment to innovative and efficient solutions that optimise the use of space and energy resources.
